Small swell tomorrow, tiny thereafter
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 1st June)
Best Days: Thursday
Recap
Tiny waves through yesterday, while today was expected to remain tiny with a small and west swell. But 2ft waves were reported across Clifton, possible from the SE?
This week and weekend (Jun 2 - 5)
Cape Sorell is picking up the fore-runners of a new long-period W/SW groundswell that's due to peak tomorrow morning across the region. Infrequent 1-2ft sets are due and winds should be offshore most of the day.
Fading tiny surf is then due through Friday as N/NW offshores freshen from the NE through the day.
For the rest of the period there's still nothing significant on the cards with the storm track being unfavourably aligned. In saying this, the coast won't go flat with tiny swells due through the weekend, fading early next week.
Into later next week the developments off our East Coast and in the Tasman Sea are due to start moving off to the east, with a rebound S'ly flow maybe generating some new S/SW swell, but more on this Friday.
