Fading surf over the weekend, new W/SW swells Tue/Wed
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 5th February)
Best Days: Saturday morning, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning
Recap
A new pulse of W/SW swell was seen yesterday to 2ft across Clifton with morning offshores, while today a secondary stronger pulse offered 2-3ft sets, but winds were up from the S'th early creating bumpy conditions.
This weekend and next week (Feb 6 - 12)
Today's strong pulse of SW groundswell should ease back from 2ft tomorrow morning under offshore N/NW winds and SE sea breezes.
A further easing is due Sunday from 1ft+ and an early onshore SW change is due, creating less than ideal conditions, with winds tending SE into the afternoon.
Monday doesn't look any better with tiny waves and a possible early onshore wind as well.
Tuesday's good pulse of new W/SW swell has been downgraded a touch, with the polar frontal progression moving in from the west, that was forecast to strengthen under us now not expected to be as favourable.
Still a fun kick in size to 1-2ft is expected on Tuesday, holding Wednesday before easing back into Thursday. Beyond this some smaller W/SW groundswell is on the cards but we'll review this Monday.
Conditions are looking good Tuesday and Wednesday mornings with NW winds, while onshore breezes may be seen Thursday. Have a check back here Monday for more on this. In the meantime, have a great weekend!
