No real decent days this week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 25th January)
Best Days: Exposed breaks Wednesday
Recap
Clean fun easing 1-2ft sets on Saturday morning, while Sunday was back to a tiny 1-1.5ft and better on a board with more volume.
This morning a tiny reinforcing W/SW swell has kept 1-1.5ft sets hitting Clifton but an onshore change created average conditions.
This weekend and next week (Jan 21 – 24)
Another reinforcing pulse of W/SW swell should provide 1-1.5ft sets across Clifton tomorrow but we're likely to see a lingering S/SE breeze across the coast, increasing through the day.
In saying this winds will only be light, if not variable creating workable conditions for beginners and keen surfers.
Wednesday should see easing 1ft sets, best at other locations away from Clifton with fresh NE tending stronger E/NE winds.
Into the end of the week there's nothing significant due at all, but through the weekend we'll see a broad low pressure system developing across us, drifting into a position, where a fetch of strong E/SE winds will be aimed into us.
This should produce a small kick in SE windswell to 2ft through the afternoon, easing from a similar size Sunday but with E/SE tending SE winds.
There should also be a small inconsistent W/SW groundswell in the mix Saturday to 1-2ft, but with the poor conditions there'll be no decent surfing options.
Longer term there's nothing too significant on the cards at all unfortunately. Check back Wednesday for another update.
