Fading surf, becoming tiny
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 22nd January)
Best Days: Saturday morning, tiny peelers Tuesday morning
Recap
A good pulse of SW groundswell to 2-3ft yesterday with favourable winds, while today's reinforcing swell has keep 2ft sets hitting Clifton.
This weekend and next week (Jan 21 – 24)
Today's reinforcing W/SW groundswell should ease back through the weekend, with 1-2ft sets still on offer for the morning surf, tiny into Sunday.
Into Monday and Tuesday some tiny reinforcing W/SW swell should keep 1ft+ sets hitting Clifton but unfortunately an onshore S/SW change is due dawn Monday with better variable winds Tuesday morning. This will be the best day for beginners.
Into the rest of the week, a deepening inland surface trough across Victoria will bring strengthening E/NE winds down to our East Coast, which will blow across the South Arm, with no decent groundswell.
Therefore make the most of tomorrow's easing swell.
