Best Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Recap

Tiny waves best at exposed breaks yesterday with onshore tiny waves today.

This week and weekend (Jan 7 – 10)

Tomorrow morning will be tiny again with 1ft of swell, but into Friday, our new pulse of SW groundswell has been upgraded a touch.

The strong polar frontal progression generating the swell is now due to generate a better fetch of gale to near severe-gale W/NW tending W/SW winds.

A strong SW groundswell should result, building quickly through Friday from 2-3ft through the morning to 3ft+ through the day. Morning W/NW winds will create clean conditions, with onshores due from early to mid-afternoon or so.

A slight drop in size is expected Saturday from 2-3ft with morning NW offshores ahead of SE sea breezes.

A fast moving and less than favourably aligned front pushing under us Saturday should keep 2ft sets hitting the coast into Sunday morning before fading through Monday with morning offshores.

Longer term there's nothing too significant on the cards, but we'll have another look at this on Friday. Make the most of the swell due Friday and Saturday though!
