Biggest Thursday, exposed spots Friday and Saturday
Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Wednesday 27th Aug)
Best Days: Thursday, Friday through Sunday morning exposed spots
Recap
Tiny waves continued through yesterday and today the swell has really bottomed out. Conditions have been great though and worth an explore further afield.
This week and weekend (Aug 28 - 31)
There's been no real change to the very inconsistent long-range W/SW groundswell due across the state tomorrow, generated in the South-eastern Indian Ocean.
This swell will be extremely inconsistent but should offer 1-2ft sets across Clifton under light N/NW tending variable winds.
Tiny 1ft waves are expected to fade through Friday as light NW winds swing E/SE into the afternoon.
Unfortunately there's nothing major expected over the weekend, with a tiny 1ft of background W/SW groundswell due Saturday before fading Sunday. N-N/NE winds will favour more exposed breaks Saturday with N'ly tending W/NW winds on Sunday.
Next Monday onwards (Sep 1 onwards)
The outlook for next week remains poor with tiny amounts of swell and poor winds in the wake of a cold front pushing through Monday. Longer term we may see some better swell into the following weekend, but we'll keep a close eye on this and provide another update on Friday.
In the meantime the East Coast is expected to cop heaps of swell to it may be worth checking out the notes for that region.
