Into the mid next week and we should see some real size about as the persistent E’ly winds generate a fully developed sea state through our near swell window.
Zonal fronts below Tasmania will bring plenty of W’ly ridging but not much surf so we’ll see tiny surf develop this week.
By Mon we’re expecting a deep E’ly flow to have established through our near South Pacific Island chains and extending into the Coral Sea, possibly with an embedded trough or E’ly dip through the Coral Sea.
The westerly swells continue with generally favourable winds.
Pressure gradients will stay weak in our proximate and medium range spheres of influence so as the current E/SE swell ebbs away we’re in for a quiet spell on the surf front.
We've got a favourable run of conditions but with tricky west swells that will be inconsistent on the Surf Coast.
Aim for a paddle through next week if not later this afternoon.
The weekend will see easing surf with light winds, large and onshore most of next week.
Winds will slowly ease and improve over the coming days with plenty of swell still in the mix.
The weekend looks great for surf with a more manageable sized swell and clean morning conditions.
