Fun waves tomorrow, good swell for Saturday
South Australian Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 1st June)
Best Days: Tuesday Mid Coast and South Coast mid-late morning until sea breezes develop, South Coast Friday afternoon, both coasts Saturday, South Coast Sunday
Recap
A slow start to both coasts on Saturday but a strong new groundswell filled in through the day, offering better size and great surf into the afternoon with light favourable winds.
Sunday the swell dropped back down South, while the Mid Coast continued to offer fun 2ft sets, easing back into this morning.
A new W/SW swell due to fill in through today is pulsing to a good 2ft+ on the Mid Coast (photos below) with weak onshore winds, while Middleton isn't showing much of an increase as of yet and with a fresh south-west breeze.

This week and weekend (Jun 5 - 10)
This afternoon's increase in inconsistent W/SW groundswell is due to peak this evening, easing back slowly tomorrow from a fun 1-2ft on the Mid Coast and 2ft+ off Middleton.
Winds during the early morning don't look ideal for the South Coast and from the E/NE, but we'll see them tend more NE through the morning, variable and then likely E/SE into the afternoon. This will keep the Mid clean all day though.
As touched on last update, a strong blocking high will move in through the week, bringing strengthening northerly winds as the swell fades Wednesday and Thursday with some new energy from Friday.
The swell magnets down South will be the pick early Wednesday but only 2ft max and easing with gusty N/NE winds, while Thursday looks a lay day with fresh to strong but easing N/NW winds and no surf. The Mid Coast will see a poor quality increase in NW windswell.
This strengthening N/NW breeze will be ahead of an incoming mid-latitude front, and with this we're set to see a moderate to large sized W/SW groundswell for Saturday.
Coming back to tomorrow though, and a strong cold-outbreak north off the WA coast will drift south and see the formation of a deep low south of Margaret River tomorrow evening.
A fetch of patchy strong to gale-force W'ly winds will be initially generated in the Mid Coast's western swell window, producing a spike in W'ly swell on Friday.
It's hard to nail down the size as the fetch is aimed great but touch and go, but we're likely to see at least 2ft surf building through the day on the Mid Coast, with Middleton possibly increasing to 2ft+.
NW tending W/NW winds will create favourable conditions all day down South and bumpy waves on the Mid.
The low will start to weak on Wednesday but the move east, generating a fetch of slow moving strong to gale-force W/SW winds in our western swell window through Thursday, dipping away to the south-east out of our swell window Friday.
This will produce a moderate to large sized W/SW groundswell for Saturday, coming in at a great 2-3ft on the Mid Coast and 3-5ft off Middleton. With the front slipping away to the south-east on Friday we should see variable winds and hopefully clean conditions Saturday morning, W/SW into the afternoon and then NW Sunday as the swell eases.
Confirmation on this Wednesday though.
