  • Small S swell Mon with continuing offshore winds
  • More NE swell Tues, peaking Wed
  • Small S swell pulses Fri into next weekend

Recap

Leftover S swells have dropped right down with only 1ft of surf yesterday and similar sizes today, slightly bigger this a’noon with winds tending NW.

This weekend and next week (Sep13 - Sep22)

No great change to the weekend f/cast. High pressure in the Tasman and a W’ly biased ridge across Tasmania as fronts and a deep low pass to the south. Tiny mixed bag of small S swell and traces of E swell won’t amount to more than a 1ft wave under W’ly winds.

Sunday looks a little more hopeful as a NE fetch off the NSW Coast delivers some 2ft surf through the day with similar W’ly winds.

Into next week and a deep low passing under the state over the weekend delivers a small payload of S swell wrap to 1-2ft at S facing beaches with winds from the W-NW.

NE windswell then looks to set in through Tues and Wed as N’ly winds freshen off the NSW Coast. Winds remain the same- fresh W-NW but NE swell should push into the 2ft range Tues and peak Wed in the 3ft range before easing. It’ll be a little better quality than the typical NE windswell. Easing but still workable NE swells are expected Thurs with fresh W’ly winds.

A front passing Fri, clips the state and brings WSW-SW winds and a small payload of S swell, likely in the 2ft range.

Further small S swells are likely into next weekend but we’ll see how they look come Mon.

Until then, have a great weekend!
