Nothing of note until late next week
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 2nd April)
Best Days: No good days, desperate surfers possibly south magnets Monday afternoon
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Flukey S groundswell for Mon PM with variable tending NE winds
- Mid-period E/NE-NE swell next Fri-Sun
Recap
Tiny surf continued yesterday and similar today across the state.
This weekend and next week (Apr 3 - 9)
Unfortunately the coming outlook remains void of any major swell activity with the strong, zonal fronts passing under us this weekend being just that, too west to east in alignment.
If there's anything spreading into the south magnets it'll be on Monday afternoon but don't expect anything over 2ft under NE sea breezes.
Looking to our north and the tropical depression come Tasman Low that's due to form off the northern NSW coast looks relatively weak now with the models slowly coming into alignment regarding its intensity and track.
We should see it moving into the central Tasman Sea mid-next week, into our swell window with a fetch of weak NE winds on its eastern flank, stronger E/SE on its southern flank due to generate some small, mid-period E/NE swell for Friday-Sunday.
Size wise we're probably looking at surf to 3ft or so, but we'll have a closer look at this in the coming updates. In the meantime check out the South Arm notes and have a Happy and Safe Easter!
