This week and weekend (May 3 - 6)
The N/NE swell due across the region late week is looking slightly better, but for all intents and purposes any size generated overnight Thursday will likely be gone Friday morning.
During Thursday afternoon no major size is due with weak N/NE winds developing down the coast. Sets may push 1-1.5ft by dark, but stronger N/NE winds overnight will move out of our swell window around midnight, with fading 1-2ft sets due Friday morning with a N/NW tending NW breeze.
Following this there's no major swell generating systems, with very fleeting pulses of SW winds with passing fronts not likely to generate any surfable S'ly swells.
Longer term there's an outside chance for an easterly dip in the Tasman Sea, bringing NE swell from next weekend, but that's a long way down the track.
