Benign outlook continues
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 3rd January)
Best Days: Sunday at north-east magnets for desperate surfers
Recap
Tiny yesterday, while this morning a small S'ly swell was offering infrequent 1-2ft sets at south magnets.
Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl
This week and weekend (Jan 4 - 7)
Today's small pulse of refracted S'ly swell will fade overnight with nothing significant due through tomorrow or Friday. A small refracted S'ly groundswell shown later Friday will be generated by a too zonal fetch of W'ly winds through the Southern Ocean.
The N/NE windswell for the weekend is now looking a touch better than it was on Monday.
The fetch developing in the Tasman Sea will be more robust, forming Saturday afternoon and kicking up a late pulse to 2ft+ on dark though with strong N'ly winds.
The fetch will unfortunately move away locally through the evening, but off the NSW coast winds will remain in our swell window until about midnight.
This should keep small 1-2ft sets across north-east magnets Sunday morning with a SW tending S/SE breeze.
Early next week looks void of any major swell, but into later next week we've still got the possible NE/ENE swell on the cards. More on this Friday.
