Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 10th July)

Best Days: South magnets tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday morning

Recap

Generally tiny waves on the coast over the weekend with a hint of S'ly swell Saturday, tiny into Sunday and similar today.

This week and weekend (Jul 11 - 16)

Just when things start looking up for some decent swell across the coast, the models change a little and back off.

A Tasman Low that was forecast to form over near New Zealand now looks to be just angled just enough out of our swell window to not generate any decent swell for us late week.

We should see some small S'ly swell tomorrow and Wednesday morning though, generated by a polar front passing under us today.

A broad fetch of SW winds should produce a small increase in size through tomorrow, building to 2ft+ at south facing beaches through the day, easing back from 2ft Wednesday morning.

A light W'ly tending variable breeze should create OK conditions tomorrow, with W/NW tending N/NE winds into Wednesday.

After this there's nothing significant on the cards until the weekend when we may see a small low temporarily stall south-east of us. This might generate a small weak S'ly swell, but the models are still moving around regarding this system.

Check back Wednesday for an update on this small flukey swell.
