Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 10th February)

Best Days: Saturday, Tuesday morning

Recap

Excellent waves through the day yesterday with a large NE swell to 5-6ft under varying winds, swinging offshore for most parts of the coast through the day.

This morning there was still 2-3ft of swell with offshore winds again.

This week and and next (Feb 11 - 17)

Into tomorrow we're due to see a small mix of leftover NE windswell and E/NE swell from a weak fetch of E'ly winds off New Zealand yesterday.

Open beaches should see 1-2ft sets with all day offshore winds, while Sunday is expected to offer fading 1-1.5ft waves.

A broad but relatively weak cold front pushing up past us Sunday afternoon and Monday should produce some small S'ly swell for our magnets, but the winds will be average at these places.

Monday morning may only offer 2ft sets, but more size is expected into the afternoon to 3ft as the front takes a slightly more S/SW angle.

Gusty SW winds will unfortunately create average conditions at these magnets.

Tuesday morning is looking OK with easing 2ft to maybe 3ft sets with a a light offshore wind ahead of N/NE sea breezes.

Into the rest of the week, the S'ly swell will fade away, and there's the possibility for some small NE swell late week, but we'll have another look at this Monday. Have a great weekend!
