Wednesday only chance for a surf
Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 20th July)
Best Days: Wednesday afternoon
Recap
Building levels of S'ly swell Saturday but with less than ideal winds, while yesterday was cleaner as the swell eased from a smaller than expected 2ft across open beaches and 3ft at south swell magnets.
This morning the swell was all but gone with fading 1ft to occasionally 2ft sets at swell magnets.
This week and weekend (Jul 21 – 26)
Slim pickings this week with tiny surf tomorrow and a small but fun kick in N/NE windswell through Wednesday from a broad and strengthening fetch of N'ly winds feeding into the coast.
Size wise, we're probably looking at sets reaching 3ft through Wednesday at north-east swell magnets with strong N/NW tending W/NW breezes later in the day. So aim for the afternoon surf.
Come Wednesday the swell will be all but gone under offshores.
For the rest of the period there's nothing significant until a strong cold outbreak pushes across us into early next week, bringing some short-range S'ly swell. More on this Wednesday.
