Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 22nd September)

Best Days: No good days, Saturday a possibility

Recap

The weekend started off fun with a fresh pulse of S'ly swell keeping 2-3ft waves hitting exposed spots under morning offshores before winds swung onshore just before midday.

Sunday's pulse of SE groundswell came in great with solid 3-5ft waves across the coast under light offshore tending N/NE winds, creating a full day of good waves. Today the SE swell was easing quickly from 2ft to occasionally 3ft across the coast, but there wasn't expected to be much size left at all this afternoon.

This week (Sep 23 - 26)

Unfortunately there's nothing major on the cards at all for this week with today's SE swell expected to be gone tomorrow, and no decent swell to replace it at all through the week. There may be a very tiny S'ly groundswell line visible Wednesday to 1ft+ across south facing breaks but that's about it.

This weekend onwards (Sep 27 onwards)

We should see some slightly better S'ly groundswell Saturday across the coast from a small polar low pushing from under the state towards New Zealand, but the trajectory isn't anything special with south facing breaks only due to reach 2ft with tiny 1ft waves at remaining beaches.

Longer term, besides small levels of N/NE windswell next Monday there's nothing major on the cards, so try the South Arm for more surf.
