Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri Dec 13th)

This weekend and next week (Dec14-Dec20)

Central QLD: A few small days ahead

High pressure is in the Tasman with some weak, troughy areas in the Coral Sea off the North QLD Coast.

At present these areas create weak low pressure off the CQ coast, that may see some slight E swell into the weekend.

Depending on how these low pressure areas behave we may see another small boost into Mon. Don’t expect much, these fetches are weak and changeable.

Next week suggests a little more as a SE surge builds up the CQ coast later Wed into Thurs. Prior to that we may see some small E/NE swell develop as winds feed down from the Northern Coral Sea into the areas of low pressure off the QLD coast.

In other words, nothing major ahead but a few small days look likely into next week. That pattern should continue or increase into the Xmas week.

Check back Mon for the latest and until then, have a great weekend!
