Tiny/flat with some minor surf next week
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri Sep 27th)
This weekend and next week (Sep27-Oct4)
Central QLD: Tiny/flat with some minor surf next week
High pressure is drifting across the Tasman with a weak trade flow near New Caledonia supplying some just rideable waves on low tides. We should see thugs signal persist into Thurs, dropping out through Fri.
As a low sits off the SEQLD Coast over the weekend we’ll see a small signal of E/SE swell develop Sun at exposed spots north the Breaksea spit.
Into next week and winds feeding into the low extend into the Coral Sea, and while there winds aren’t well aimed for CQ there should be just enough strength to hold just rideable surf (suitable for beginners and logs) through Mon-Wed.
That surf then becomes tiny/flat into the second half of next week.
Check back Fri for the latest.
Fri Update- tiny/flat over the weekend as the low off the North Coast doesn't reach far enough north for CQ.
We'll see a new high pressure ridge and SE surge Tues/Wed which should generate a day or two of minor surf.
Check back Mon for the latest and have a great weekend.
