Central QLD: Fun waves into the weekend and rebuilding next week

Fun waves today

A front has skipped across the Tasman and we have a strong high (1030hPa) currently drifting NE off NSW into the Tasman Sea at typical spring latitudes. A SE surge from the high has created some fun waves today and we’ll see those waves extend nit the weekend.

Surf should ease early next week but another blocking dual-centred high in the Tasman next week looks to re-strengthen tradewinds in the Coral Sea with wave heights increasing later next week.

Tradewinds in Coral Sea see fun waves next week

That should spell a a period of rideable waves every day from now right through next week with a low spot early next week.
