Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri 29th Sep)

This weekend and next week (Sep29-Oct 6)

Central QLD:  Keep the boards handy, another round off small, fun surf on hand next week

Still rideable once the tide drops out

High pressure over NSW is moving NE into the Tasman, with a SE-E’ly flow hanging in there.

No change to the weekend f/cast. The weakening trade flow is just holding a rideable surf on the lower tides.

That should continue over the weekend.

Mon should be the low point, possibly running into Tues before we see a modest rebuild in new E’ly tradewind swell as tradewinds reestablish across the South and Eastern Coral Seas (see below). Nothing overly exciting, just a small tick up into the 2ft range and favouring low tides.

This tradewind band should be enough to maintain a small, steady drumbeat of surf next week

That looks to persist into Fri before surf eases into Sat. Likely becoming tiny/flat.

Another SE surge looks on the cards for Sunday with good odds we’ll see another round of fun surf develop either later Sun or into Mon.

Check back Mon for the latest and have a great weekend!
