This week and next week (Sep20-Sep29)

Central QLD:  Fun waves over the weekend and early next week

Just starting to build now

No change to the outlook. High pressure has bought a strong SE surge now establishing a strong ridge up the CQ coast and a developing SE swell. That will see see fun waves develop overnight and hold through the weekend under mod/fresh SE winds.

Next week we’ll see swells ease through Mon/Tues though remaining surfable as long range E swell fills in at exposed breaks. The tradewind band rebuilds in the Central and Eastern Coral Sea later next week, likely by Thurs. That should see another round of fun E’ly tradewind swell develop later Thurs into Fri and hold fun waves into next weekend.
