This week and next week (Sep13-Sep22)

Central QLD:  Surf pattern continues with days more surf to come

Low tide grinders

Lots of fun surf over the last few days, more to come.

Not much has changed since Mon. We still have a large (1032hPa) high slow moving over NSW directing SE winds in the sub-tropics, extending out to a tradewind fetch adjacent to New Caledonia and extending into the Coral Sea. This is producing plenty of fun surf across CQ and this pattern is expected to continue through the week and over the weekend.

We should see size build late Sat and peak Sun in the 3ft range as tradewinds near New Caledonia freshen as a broad, angular tropical depression drifts down from the north.

Into next week and tradewinds weaken but stay present so we should see surf ease back a notch early next week but remain really fun sized right through most of next week.

Check back Fri for the latest.
