This weekend and next week (Aug19-Aug25)

Central QLD:  End of flat spell in sight with some fun waves from mid next week

Tiny surf with onshore N’ly winds has been on offer this week and is expected over the weekend.

Onshore and tiny

We should see an end to the flat spell by Tues next week, with a high pressure ridge building up the QLD coast and Tradewinds forming a broad fetch through the Southern/Central Coral Sea.

This ridge starts to build Mon, but it’s likely to start to generate small surf through Tues in the rideable range.

Not the most exciting tradewind fetch but it should produce some fun out of season waves

By Wed we should see surf in the 2ft range and this size should pulse on and off through into next weekend.

Following that we’ll have to see how the Tradewind fetch behaves, there is some modelling which suggests we may see another reinforcing high next week rebuild the Tradewinds fetch with another strong SE surge up the QLD Coast.

Check back Mon and until then, have a great weekend!
