Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri 11th Aug)

This weekend and next week (Aug11-Aug18)

Central QLD:  Tiny/flat surf into next week

Not much surf on offer.

All good things must come to an end

With the tradewind belt weakening and contracting northwards we’re seeing tiny/flat surf establish in CQ waters.

No real change over the weekend.

A high pressure cell moving E of Tasmania next week only looks to send a weak and temporary SE surge into the Coral Sea, not much surf expected from that source.

Nothing of interest in the Coral Sea= flat spell for CQ

Further ahead and we’re looking early into the week 21/8 for potential for a tradewind belt to form in the Coral Sea. Thats a long way away and confidence is low.

We’ll keep fingers crossed and see how it looks when we come back Mon.

Until then, have a great weekend!
