Nothing much on the horizon
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (issued on Fri 31st March)
This weekend and next week (Mar31-Apr7)
Central QLD:Nothing much on the horizon
No rideable surf on offer.
No great change to the f/cast. A trough over CQ and very weak ridge are not supplying sufficient wind energy to generate any rideable surf.
Early next week a new high moves into the Tasman but swell generating winds in the Coral Sea are quickly dragged south, out of the CQ swell window by an E’ly dip/trough of low pressure which is expected to move S and E next week.
Absent these swell generating winds we’re looking at continuing tiny surf across the CQ region next week and leading into Easter.
An approaching mid-latitude low later next week looks to move into the Tasman possibly over the Easter weekend, effectively blocking the Eastern swell window for CQ.
Unfortunately that spells continuing tiny surf for CQ.
Check back Mon and we’ll see how it’s shaping up and in the meantime, have a great weekend!
