Whalebones and Fisheyes
What do you do if this pops up in the water just before dark? Swim towards it! Just on sunset last night two whales made love off the back of the break. It was calm and, other than the odd spout, it was quiet. They just appeared. First, the point of one tail, then the two, intertwined. The water was murky and with no goggles I couldn't see a thing. On my first dive I knew they were close. As I peered into the chalky murk a tail came swaying slowly through the water only a few feet away. These guys were big, around forty feet. They moved smooth and slow, no tension, no impatience, all the time in the world. These images taken with a 10.5 mm fisheye.//MARK ONORATI
