Surfing looks bloody easy to do. At least some surfers make it appear that way. It's why it's so damn popular these days and the line-ups are choked with newbies wanting a piece of the action.

Take Dave Vlug for example. Shown here timing his run through a tasty Narrabeen pit, barely discernible body adjustments belying the skill involved. A dropped back knee controls the inside rail and a tucked right shoulder keeping his body low and weighted forward.
