It's been one hell of a Christmas to remember in South-east Queensland. A broad belt of tradewinds set up camp across the southern Coral Sea last week, slowly building easterly swells about the region until Tropical Cyclone Fina entered the arena, giving the already-active fetch a turbo boost of energy.

As a result we've seen huge, clean Christmas surf across the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and some of the best pointbreak waves in many months
