Shipsterns Bluff
Been a lot of storm activity south of the Australian continent lately. The winter pattern is in full swing with the most recent round delivering great waves to all of WA, SA, and Victoria too. Tassie also copped it, but as the largest swell had a strong westerly component the size was somewhat reduced at Shippies.
Size is always relative, it was still 10' plus, but rather than dissappointment the lads revelled in a completely tow-free day. From the first wave - Marti Paradisis on an outlandish bomb, apparently - to the last it was paddle power all the way.
Zebulon Critchlow (yellow board) had a session to remember, while young Russ Bierke (orange board) made further inroads. Regulars such as Tyler HX (red board), Shaun Wallbank, and Sam Boon, each of whom make an appearance in this gallery, scored numerous barrels.
