2013 was a poor year for Shipstern Bluff. The beast lay dormant for long periods and was cursed with onshores when it broke. In contrast, 2014 has got off to a great start.

On Sunday Shippies broke under blue skies and light winds. While Stu Gibson got the aerial angle, Andrew Chisholm stood his ground down at sea level. Surfers include James McKean Zeb Critchlow, Danny Griffiths, Marti Paradisis, Jaryd Foster and the Hollmer-Cross brothers - Tyler and James.
