Ruler Straight, Razor Sharp
Saturday's swell on the east coast produced a huge disparity in size. Breaks south of the harbour were twelve feet at first light, north of the harbour around eight, while some Central Coast waves of note only struggled into the six feet range. It all came down to the numbers - period and direction - and how each stretch of coast responded to them.
The break featured in the photos below - taken by Fluidzone editor Phil Gallagher - was clearly responding to the numbers very well. While surfers were scratching their heads at the lack of swell hitting the reefs nearby this place was raking it all in. Not only that, it was ruler straight and perfect.
