Playing With Scale
Bodysurfing in a clean shorebreak is always fun. It's a way of getting up close and intimate to waves in a way that isn't possible when riding a surfboard. Even on tiny days you can shrink yourself into hollow barrels and be swallowed whole by them.
In this set of photos Scott Butcher plays with scale. Without surfers to reference the size you can let your imagination take hold and the waves become any size you want. While a sunrise provides the backlight to a shape we often see but a size rarely bother with.
