During the new year break Victorian shooter, Steve Arklay, headed north to Papua New Guinea on a surf trip. His timing was immaculate as it coincided with a low pressure system forming in the Western Pacific just south of Japan. After three days travel and 3000 kms traversed, the swell hit PNG's northern shores as beautiful 3-5 feet long-period waves. All of the exposed reefs fired.
