The Next Bank Up
Often the best surfing at a competition is put on by freesurfers at the next bank up the beach. Proof positive to this was the last day of the Rip Curl Pro at Johanna. Slater might've got the points and the trophy but all who were present on the beach were raving about Gabriel Medina's relentless aerial attack on the lefthander opposite the contest bank.
Mornington Peninsula photog Luke Chalmers has caught local surfer Adam Morris doing something similar. While the local boardriders comp went down in great waves out front Luke trained his lens up the beach and caught Adam putting on a show at the next bank up the beach.
