Mirror Image
The east coast is a versatile stretch of coastline. Southerly is the predominant swell direction yet when the lines swing to the east and north the options stay wide open. In fact a lot of the bommies on the east coast are ambidextrous in that, given a northerly swell direction, the lefthanders operate as well as the rights.
This was the case today when Matt Hipsley rocked up to a well-known east coast bommie to see it breaking as a mirror image of it's usual self.// STUART NETTLE
