Yesterday on the North Shore, the Pipe to Off The Wall stretch pumped under 8 feet of swell, blue skies, and light trades. A diamond day sparkling after a few slow weeks. Tim Bonython parked himself on the coarse sand at OTW filming for his next Australian Surf Movie Festival. Yeah, the curtain just closed on his last one but Tim lives by the credo shark don't move, shark don't eat.

Just before midday Mark Healey freefell into this oil slick smooth beast, collapsed into layback, succesfully regathered (all those core muscle exercises!), and was rewarded with a slamming closeout.
