"When I heard about the opportunity to do a surf charter to Manus Island Province, PNG, I jumped at it. I have been to several different regions of PNG and every time it has been incredible. I really didn’t want to focus on the contentious political issues surrounding the Australian Government's Immigration Processing Facility. What I wanted was to see a part of the world that very few tourists would ever get to see. Of course I could not ignore the politics, it was discussed a lot on the boat. However the photographer / surfer in me won out on this trip and I kept the focus of the latest Saltmotion Photographic Journal to exploration rather than delving too far into a very deep political mess."
