Although surf photography is a branch of the wider art of photography it is itself split into many categories: watershots, fisheye, action, land-based, travel, portaiture. Many photographers dabble in the categories - after all, it's the photogs lot to be versatile - yet those who make a mark usually only do so in one particular discipline.

Gold Coast photographer, Alex Ormerod, is proving himself to be well-rounded photographer, equally adept at snapping the World Tour pros (which he did for Swellnet recently at the Quiksilver Pro) and capturing the interplay between light and wave for a moody sunrise shot.
