Alchemy in the Southern Seas
"To realise one's destiny is a person's only obligation." - Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist.
In 2010 Andrew James, his bro Richard, and friend, Tristan Fitzherbert-Smith, drove 30,000 kilometres from Casablanca to Capetown surfing all the way. They discovered an array of incredible waves and met amazing people, the result being the extraordinary surf travel film, Thirty Thousand.
Two years later Andrew has gone from serious travel to staying put in a serious environment. On an isolated island off southern Australia Andrew now tends the family farm and solo surfs the bombora just offshore.
