Giveaway: Tickets to 'That Was Then, This Is Now'
This Saturday night the premiere of 'That Was Then, This Is now' is playing at Screen Wave International Film Festival (SWIFF) in Coffs Harbour.
The film is the result of a collaboration between the Surf Film Archive - all sequences are pulled from lost film reels - and Headland who'll play live music on stage. For those unaware, Headland provide all the tunes to 'Lost Track Atlantic' and other needessential films, so chances are you've heard them before.
SWIFF are giving away two x two tickets - two winners receiving two tickets - for the first two people to correctly identify the surfers below.
If you know the answers please email SWIFF at this email address. Please include your name and contact details. You also have to be within range of Coffs this Saturday night.
A clue: I only got two out of three, and I'm supposed to be quite clever at these things. Check 'em carefully...

unfortunately im too young to pick up on who these guys are. Sounds like a cool movie though.
Is it Toledo , Italo and John John?
I’d recognise that goatee of JJF’s anywhere.
Haven’t seen a peace sign backhand bottom turn in a while.
Someone, someone, Colonel Sanders.
The last shot is definately Russel Coight ...surfing is the only time he doesnt wear khaki ..gives him a rash ..
Is it an Emilio Estevez movie?
If I'm not mistaken the bottom one is Batfink on the FlowRider on his last Carnival Caribbean cruise.
Excellent.

Owned. Thought nobody would get that!
Meant to be a compliment (of sorts).
That's how I pictured you- fit looking older bloke enjoying his retirement. That's why you sprang to mind.

The third image is probably the cleanest-cut person in surfing from the era. Tickets still available for any near Coffs.
hackman, col smith, Pete Townsend???
That's who I would have said.
Mike Doyle, Col Smith and Midget Farrelly.
Paul Staunch, Col Smith, Terry Fitz
I'm near Coffs...damn, where were my tickets.
The correct answer was Peter Drouyn at Makaha late 60s, Col Smith (Narrabeen) in WA later 60s, and Midget Farrelly in Hawaii. Winter of 72/73.
Thanks to everyone who came to our Sold Out event on Saturday night. We will schedule more shows soon.
