2021 Bodyboard Media Challenge
2021 saw restricted travel for much of the surfing world, yet of course the waves didn't stop coming.
The crew at Grand Flavour are keen to see what's been happening on your coast, and that's why they've created the Bodyboard Media Challenge.
The premise is simple:
- One wave entries, either photos or video.
- Free to enter.
- Gotta be on a BB.
- Gotta be in by November 25th.
First prize wins $1,500 - split $1,000 for creator and $500 for the rider.
The judges are Kelly Slater (yes, really), Trent Slatter, Chad Jackson, and Ben Hodge.
There's also a People's Choice Award.

Also, RIP Tom Morey.
Hard to beat that cover shot!
Kelly Slater special guest judge!
Agreed - cover shot is exquisite.
Good job toold mate -Balls deep in a gaping wide-on.
Props for the commitment, respect, and dedication -
Sliding into a large, angry & (plus-sized) hole, with a moisture content calibrated in metric tonnage.
Hope he escaped?
Although, knowing that place - (other than special circumstances) - she likely swallowed the poor bugger, whilst exponentially gaining thickness, cavernous hollowness, and of course - the unpredictable, belligerent, and logic defying climax - spinal injuries and recurrent ,non-consensual
low grit/high volume sand enemas.
[that being said - I always pick the wrong lumps there, and get smoked - mostly due to incompetence]
Props to the rider., photographer, and I hope a trip over the falls, given the grunt of that beach was avoided.
3 beasts One pic.
Solid.
Yea going to be hard to beat the cover shot
So too is what you just wrote ..
That cover shot takes me back to the mid/ late 90’s !!
Had to make a feature of you ThrushT … where else do you write?
I dont know if its a wave i lived near in Perth but that's about as big as it ever gets if its the same spot. Needs a summer of southerlies to build the sand up against the rocks, then when the swells start coming the banks only last about 8 weeks.
If its the same spot some semi long left tubes are also possible when the sand starts to shift.
People were night surfing it last time i was there getting the remains of the banks and swell.
Probably a different spot though.
Oh and regarding this contest, can they be old shots or videos?
I havent used my go pro in years.
