Watch: Nic von Rupp // Von Froth - The Nazare Challenge
Remember when we used to go outside? Travel around? Stand near each other, maybe even give a bloke a hug if he done good?
Fun times, yeah?
Nic von Rupp has prepped a series of web clips, all of them filmed on the other side, recalling the way we were (cue organs tugging on heartstrings).
This instalment is from the Nazare Challenge, held back in early February, and the key to its engagement is not the action - we saw the webcast and plenty of quick release clips - but the behind-the-scenes shots. In these, Nic walks a rare middle path: between the stilted delivery of untrained actors in front of a rolling camera, and those who are naturally charismatic and crave the attention of everyone in the room.
In short, it's natural, unforced, and it's put to the test at the 12:00 mark.
A worthwhile watch all the way through.

still blows my mind when i see them surfing such huge waves.
Porcella came off as a bit of a knob, didn't he. Knocking Kai Lenny for his "ballet moves" but look at those last two waves from 11:30. In a league of his own.
Gee that's an awful lot of scene setting / dialogue hey
Crazy heavy. Kai seemed to stuff is entry up doing that little air. When it got serious he just wasn't set and he blew it. Madness.
alex b incident...so heavy..making fun of Kai Lenny..nah?
