Mid-summer on the Gold Coast
It's hard to believe, but we're already halfway through summer. Whilst we're yet to see the Queensland swell window light up with classic, sizeable point surf, there's been a reasonable supply of useful trade swells to keep the open beaches active. Here's a recent hot lap from D'Bah, starring (amongst others) Ethan Ewing, Steph Gilmore, Occy, Josh Boyle, Paige Hareb, Josh Boyle, Matt Lackey, Elle Brooks, Liam O’Brien & (CT Rookie) Morgan Ciblic.

Well that's a whole lot better than anything I've managed to be part of since say....... late winter down here on the westy.
Ethan best on ground. Looking great for his CT return
Ahhhh the circus that is better known as the Gold Coast!!!
Fck that shit they can have it.
I don't know that crowd is nothing you been to Bali lately .
( even the beach,s in Western Australia have crowds as big as that )
Yep! Gold Coast wants that circus shit alright but Tweed / NSW / WSL aren't selling.
$3m buys Qld Govt/GC a glance over a cold shoulder, followed by a kick in the guts.
2019 Kelly surfed 2 NSW WSL Pro events & none in his adopted Wave Pool State!
$multimillion handouts, pollie bribes-photo shoots don't buy a pet Pro Aquarium!
Here we see 'NSW' World champs @ NSW stompin' ground. (Gold Coast 'd kill for it!)
Note: Despite tbb request GC did not invite Tweed on Queen's Baton Relay.(Apology)
Never now do Qld / GC include one round of any Royal event with the neighbours.
All previous century of Royal occasion shared the blue blood...Not Now! This is War!
NSW will recommence 'Qld's Flamin' Nappy Border Wall' once the stink dies down.

Swellnet ran a beaut pic of Ellie Brooks on a single fin at Burleigh a year or two back, that was an all time great WOTD
not much tradeswell.
majority of surf since start of summer has been from the southern quadrant, apart from the two weeks around Xmas/NY
How was the wave pool?
weird, mad fun
Yawn.....
Hohum
was in Bali in July, more crowded than ever, but mercifully crowds still thin out at certain spots at a certain size.
