Watch: Snaking through Barrinha
Last time I heard 'Rattlesnake' by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in a surf film, Mick Fanning was streaking across an unknown desert right - a wave which came to be known as 'The Snake'.
Ain't nothing like that in this clip, though it's not short of barrel time. It's filmed at Barrinha just prior to the Oi Rio Pro, and though it features cameos by Ryan Callinan, Kanoa Igarishi, and Kelly Slater, it's the local punters who shine. Check old mate at 3:55 (not the bloke on his guts, the wave after), and red boardshorts who takes off around the 6 min mark.
Performance aside, this clip is yet more proof of what clever coastal engineering can do. The right at Barrinha isn't natural, it's the result of the authorities shaping the breakwall into something that both flushes the lagoon and provides good sand build up for surfers.

jesus stu - they need to engineer an exit too. great viewing but - music, edit, and close-shot all work well with that wave
great waves! great little video. i want to go to brazil!
my vote is easily the last wave
Phark me, I bet you duck diving one of those guillotine close outs would be an experience to remember...
You can keep turns.
Hectically paced , throttled out barrels every day of the week , thanks very much.
