Watch: Eli Hanneman // 15
At Swellnet we usually resist running clips based simply on the strength of the surfer's diminutive age. To do so opens the gates to every proud Dad with a handycam and a career path for their young charge.
Today we've tossed out that rule, not once, but twice. First with sixteen-year old Arpad Leclere's clip and now with Eli Hanneman who has one less candle on the cake.
It's impressive stuff from the young fella, dynamic in the pool and bold over the reefs.
Watch this space.

Kid Shreds! Future Lord? Only time will tell...
great, amazing child prodigy but that music made me switch it off.
Agree, that music
he doenst smile much for a 15 year old.
You noticed that too>?
It all seemed oddly mechanical and joyless.
Yep noticed the seriousness {maybe} also. Also the 27 airs he did & landed each one
with confidence & precision ,of course they may have cut out any he didn't make. Maybe a bit undersize for a 15 yr old, sure he'll beef up.
50 shades of Kelly when it comes to both forehand and backhand barrels
Sometimes certain people seem to have more time than the rest and make the complex look simple.
They generally become world champions.
Anybody willing to take my fiver on this kid?
I'm thinking he'll be on tour in 3 years if he's knees hold out........Giddyup
Dodgy dramatic music aside, Eli rocks!
Often wonder if those airs and reverse feel good. The launch might be nice but the landings would be a splat, with a jolt, loss of speed and flow. I have never wished I could do one.
Yeah being able to do those tweeked out air spin double grab back flips would suck. I love being a kook too!
surely that Waco wave pool would compliment the kid being like 50 kilo or soemthing
15 years, that young fella is impressive. Great tube sense, rail work and varied airs. Rips.
Music a bit dramatic.
lost me at 2:15
same here, but the gouge at 3:26 is wortha look.
Grom making the back half of the tour look silly. Some serious turns for a little fella. Unbelievable surfing. Incredible
I'm really impressed by his surfing as long as he's having fun, which I'm sure he is. I see many dads pushing, filming, coaching and even criticizing their kids for under performing even in the daily session at the local break. Perhaps some guys are trying to live their dream through their kids. Anyway, Eli has special talent as do many of our kids and seems pretty cruisy. Just make sure its always fun for them and your out in the lineup being their good mate, enjoying Gods creation together, instead of on the beach analysing them far too much.
One of kelly's love childs?
Mother even named him Eli, Kelly without the K
Incredible skills, yet the whole thing felt flat to me. Sorry.
I'm usually not jaded or difficult to get excited.
the right hand wave at 50secs (approx)...wow
It the serious sized waves he look a solid and experienced man, then close up in the pool you could see he just a young kid. My hat off to such skill at such a young age.
