Though it was early in his career, Mark Occhilupo's 1984 win at the Country Feeling Classic J'Bay was one of his most celebrated. The win showed that the stout 17-year-old could back up the hype, and that he could take his backhand attack to one of the world's fastest waves. Being a goofy was no longer a disadvantage at J'Bay.

Thing is, in all the years since Occy's win no other goofyfooter has raised the trophy at J'Bay - at least while it has been on the CT. Keep that stat in mind while you choose your Fantasy Surfer team.

Last Thursday, Aaron Hughes shot Supers as both Yago Dora and Conner Coffin addressed the wave in mirror ways.

Has anyone found some other way to view it live without F/B?

None yet Blower. I'm trying to contact the WSL but having predictably laughable results. One guy on holidays, out of office auto reply says to contact person X, so I do, but person X's email address doesn't exist...

There's this thing called FOXTEL you can get!

You make a phone call and a bloke comes round to your house a day or so later, installs a satellite dish on your roof and you're away. You can even record the days surfing instead of watching it live! This means you can speed through the dross of blokes waiting for waves while having to put up with insanely banal commentary (90% of the telecast) and just watch the surfers actually riding waves.

Costs a little over $20 a week and you can even watch stuff other than surfing if the mood takes you.

You heard it here first!

Agree with ringmaster . I use Foxtel , I think it's reasonable value for the access (data free) to just about any sporting event in the world for less than $20 / month. I also get a diversity in political opinion , which I value.
People need to realize that WSL is all about business , how to make the punters pay for the content. The competitors are little more than actors in a drama series . The price you pay for being forced to use Facebook , is your lack of privacy , your freedom and your integrity.
