Swellnet Lifeline Classic Boardswap Fundraiser
The Northern Beaches Lifeline Classic is only a couple of weeks away and to help in the fund-raising efforts, Swellnet is teaming up with Saltbush Cafe (Freshwater) and Scotch and Smoke BBQ to run a morning fundraiser and boardswap event this Sunday (15th April).
We'll be raffling the board shown below, donated gratefully by Dave Wood, though the main fundraiser will be a boardswap event where you can sell your old unused boards with a small percentage of sales going to charity.
The location will be out front of Saltbush Cafe (attached to the Surf Club) on the grass in Freshwater Reserve, running from 9am to 2pm.
So dust off any of those old boards sitting in your garage or in storage, give them a polish and put a price on them. It's also a great day to hunt down a bargain within the local community.
Scotch and Smoke will be putting on an epic BBQ with profits being donated to Lifeline Northern Beaches.
I hope to see you down there getting behind a great cause.
If you can't make it on Sunday, you can also donate by clicking the image below (we need to reach at least $3,000 otherwise we'll be handicapped points each heat).
The final surfing event will also be held at Dee Why on the following Sunday, the 22nd of April.
For further updates about this weekend, follow the event page on Facebook.

I have an old model 6'6" Simon XFC in near miraculous condition. Not sure how I will price it yet. Get there early and you might get it cheap!
Very interesting, I like!
Price just went up!
You had betta describe to blindboy what a $100 buys
Haha indeed.
If Gary was in town he'd certainly dust off his stick and display it to all the punters at the board swap.
The board sell/swap kicks off today from 9am. Bring down your boards and cash and say hi and get behind a great cause!
Will be there about 10. Two boards the 6'6" Simon XFC and a hand painted 6'8" high volume Miller in as new condition.
Huge day down at Freshy, rasied over $2,200 and such a great community event!
Thanks to everyone who turned up and was involved, it looks like this will have to be at least an annual event.
Great effort Craig! Bringing people together, raising money for a great cause and liberating all those neglected boards from their garage prisons.....and what about the food? Definitely the best burger I have had in a long time.
