Watch: Size Matters - RCJ and Mick Corbett on 60 Minutes
Just a few days after Ross Clarke-Jones played pinball with the rocks at Nazare, he appears in a pre-recorded segment of 60 Minutes. Last November, the 60 Minutes team travelled to Nazare to film Ross and Mick, and while there they lucked into some added drama when Andrew Cotton broke his back while the cameras were rolling.
So mix that footage with Ross and Mick talking the quest for the 100 footer alongside Ross' recent rock dance and the punters back home get a thoroughly entertaining 15 minutes of tele.

what about the guy taking photos in the red jacket, i have seen him somewhere around the place before ??
now i remember, he used to have 8 hour sessions in the Southern ocean by himself in the middle of know where 40 years ago
Best 60 mins ive seen....
I could have watched another hour of this but as far as 60minutes goes my fav is of George Negus interviewing Bob Marley in the 80's in Jamaica when i was a little boy.

MULL UP
'Every law is illegal' Bob at his bent best.
The on the ski footage was interesting, showing how hectic it is for the safety guy watching out for the wave, the surfer just towed in, doing pick ups and dodging random doom sets. I've paddled sizeable (but much smaller )versions of random peak set ups like that and it is full on even when you can duck dive on a short board and there is a nice sandy beach just inshore. Nazarre? No thanks.
That was cool.
Shoulda towed the interviewer into a couple.
Full Bore, Hard Core.
Good story!
Unfortunately it will only inspire more try hards and wanna be's.
Good watch - but yeh nah thats not where Lisbon is
Has RCJ stacked on some serious weight or is that a safety tire around his middle ?
I actually find nazare quite uninteresting. If it wasnt for rcj i wouldnt have watched it. In fact i'm spewin i qasted my time.Sure its massive but its a pretty crap wave.
Most awkward moment.....RCJ asking the interviewer "what excites you?"...and he couldnt even provide an answer. Funny, sad little reflection on how many people dont actually stop and think about the last time they felt adrenalin coursing through their veins. While most of us dont get to that Nazare level - I'm bloody glad I surf and occasionally feel that rush of fear and stoke as you scratch for the horizon.
Well said Bungan!
Good fun I thought. RCJ is mad always has been.
Im not a doctor...but did anyone else think RCJ showed signs of being punch drunk? Slurred speech? Surely all that trauma he has received from a million wipeouts must rattle the brain a bit? I am always fascinated by how the human body sustains the sheer physical pressure of that much energy and trauma. It just doesnt look physically possible. Copping a decent sized set on the head at the local can hurt....cant image what Nazare does.
Ha ha, punch drunk in surfing, now there's a question!!!
you are the guy in the red jacket taking photo's
Liam Bartlett is good value too
