Riding what looks more like a hover board from Back To The Future than a surfboard, Ludovic Dulou cements his place in history becoming the first person to foil surf the Mascaret - or French tidal bore.

“More than a project, it’s been my dream for the last ten years," said an elated Lud after the scenic 12km upstream trip.

"What a great moment of joy during this ride! It felt like I was flying over the Mascaret!"

"I can say this performance was an interesting physical adventure!"
