Hello Everyone,
I'll be making a public announcement tomorrow, but wanted to give you guys a heads up. So here it is: EOS needs to raise $30,000 by the end of December, or the project folds. That's the short version. You can read read the long version here.
When I put EOS behind a paywall, last June, I was practically snickering at how easy it was going to be to pick up 2,000 subscribers. At $3.00 a month, are you kidding? The paywall goes up Monday, I'll have 2,000 subs before the weekend!
Oh the innocence of a 57-year-old rookie web-merchant...
I have a lot of misgivings about the way I've marketed and promo'd EOS. This whole thing, from the beginning, has been a learn-as-you-go deal. But where some things I picked up pretty easily, the business aspects, even for a venture as small as EOS, remain a difficult new language to me. That said, I have no doubt that site itself is not only worthwhile, but spectacular. Better than anything out there, and not just in surf, but all of sport. How could it be otherwise? So many incredibly talented people are backing it—photographers, filmmakers, writers, artists, designers. I'm holding the flushest royal flush in sports-media history! Yet the house—the net—seems nearly unbeatable.
Except I still think I can beat it. Why? Because I don't need much to win. My overhead is small, and I'm not aiming to make a lot of money. Enough to stay afloat. So from now until New Year's Eve I'll be moving and shaking and hustling to get the cash to keep EOS going. I won't be posting much stuff on the sites over the next four weeks, and I apologize in advance for that. But I'm going to shake the trees until the red ink lapping my ankles turns black . . . and then I'll go back to work and make a sweet new clip about Sam Hawk.
Thank you, all of you, for supporting EOS. There have been so many moments over the past few months, especially since I starting doing the Sunday newsletter, when your comments and encouragement have kept me up and positive. I love doing the work for its own sake, but hearing back from all of you after I send something into the digital ether—that's always the best part of my work day.

Ah, OK...no mind, it's much the same as the above 'cept with some FAQs
Maybe he could team up with WSL and do it for 6$.
3 for EOS . 3 for WSL ........(sarcasm)
Where is the Roller these days?
I think he or she would have the answer to all these companies folding or begging or buying each other....... was usually incorporated into every comment he/she unleashed in the past.
Ah the good old days, Inertia was new, directors and ceos weren't yet in jail .
Where did it all go wrong?
Is this related to the idea in the question "Where are all the Aussieson the QS?"
